I’ve been on Facebook since 2006, Twitter since 2008, and I’ve used both platforms as a way to grow my supply

company. Yes, I did have a very active MySpace account. For the last 3 years, I have also been active on Google+ and

I keep my LinkedIn profile updated quarterly. I’m also active on YouTube. So, let’s better understand and grow our business with Social Media.

So first what’s the point? Why spend time and effort in this regard? I think that, as an industry, we are certainly

slowing down to adapt many of the tools available to us through social media. If you look at some of the leading

players in our industry, very little time and effort is put into social media. Social media is time-consuming and it’s

hard to really see results quickly. Also, for many in our industry, we are more of an analog industry, and only now are

we reaching the digital age. Buffer printers are a prime example. Wonderful creative and talented people who stamp

ink. sublimation systems are often “that horrible problem creating machines can leap…” But in the right

environment, with the right market, sublimation can be a lifesaver for a business with buffer pointers. So back to social media …

So why do we have to be on social media? 37 million people connect to Facebook every day, and 40,250 tweets have

been posted in the last 10 minutes. How about Google+? Who does most of us go to when we want to search the

internet for something? There are 5,922,000,000 (yes, 5.9 billion) Google searches per day. Google has a staggering

67.6% of the search engine market share in the US, according to the latest search engine market share figures from

April 2014, published by ComScore. Being in G + and talking about search terms that are important to your business,

as well as correctly sharing links to your website on G + will help you rank in search. By improving your search

ranking, you will have a better chance of someone accessing your website who is interested in the products and

services you offer. So the numbers are correct. There is an audience and most of your customers may be

somewhere on social media and are waiting for you to interact with them.

The other reason for many of us is the price. The price can’t be beaten… FREE! Being social is absolutely free and

requires only time and effort. There are things that you can spend money on social networks, which will make things

easier, but honestly, people who do it right and spend the necessary time do not have to pay anything to promote

their business and find new customers. What are your alternatives for addressing customers? You could exhibit at a

trade show or home show or another event. Plan to spend between $ 5,000 and $ 10,000 to really do this, though. You

could advertise on the internet with banners or Google AdWords. Plan to spend between $ 1,000 and $ 2,000 a

month to get the kind of social media coverage you can get. You can broadcast commercials on radio, TV, or even the

local newspaper, but again they all cost money, a commodity that most small businesses do not yet have in

abundance. Now, using social media to improve return on investment (return on investment) for the above is

something you should look at. Suppose you spend $ 5,000 to be shown at a local show at home, but luckily you end

up in a corner behind the local real estate agent out loud and no one comes to see you. How about using social media

to pass people by the real estate agent with pictures of your booth, jokes about the real estate agent out loud or

otherwise. Be yourself and help people come to find you.

Another plus is that it is not unilateral like many other marketing methods, you do not have to be the only one who

develops your business. Your job is to encourage interaction between your company and your products. This is not

the elevator where you have 30 seconds to sell your goods and services, this is the time to talk about things that

interest your customer and build a relationship that will turn them into lasting customers. Also, happy customers

make the BEST sales agents so that they offer them a starting point to advocate for your brand, having an active social media plan.

So what else can be done? With partner networks
