Mango Baby Food Recipe – Here is a classic and easy way to prepare mango baby food – without any added sugar! Mangoes can be difficult to peel by hand, so we suggest using a sharp knife or kitchen shears for this step. The best time to prepare mangos for baby food is when they’re ripe – green ones will not work as well because they will be too tart, but it’s still ok if you happen to have them at home.

Cut the mango flesh away from the pit. Scoop out carefully with a spoon, and discard the pit. The mango may be a bit stringy, but that’s ok! The easiest way to get around this is to pinch off any little chunks of fibrous mango with your fingers, especially from around the inside edge where the peel narrows into a small strip. But also feel free to peel off any big pieces of stringy mango if you want. Also make sure there aren’t any little seeds or fibers anywhere in there because it’s not going to taste very good unless it’s very smooth.

 

Mangoes have a tendency to have a tough skin, so you might want to run a spoon or your finger around the insides of the container where you’re storing the mango baby food to loosen this up, but before you do so be sure to taste it first to make sure it’s smooth enough.

 

DIRECTIONS :

Place mangos in a food processor or blender with 1 teaspoon of water. Process until very smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add 1 teaspoon of pureed mango to each 1/2 cup serving of baby food. If using an electric mixer, process on medium speed just until well blended. Serve.
